Description of Internship
Negocios Now seeks a dynamic and motivated intern to assist the Publisher in expanding the publication’s digital presence and promoting its signature programs. This is an excellent opportunity for students interested in media, journalism, marketing, communication or business development to gain hands-on experience with a leading Hispanic business publication.
Duties and Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Distribute Negocios Now content across various social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram).
- Create engaging posts tailored for different digital platforms to increase audience engagement.
- Monitor and analyze social media performance to optimize reach and engagement.
Content Promotion
- Support the Publisher in efforts to grow readership through digital campaigns.
- Assist in content planning and scheduling for maximum visibility.
- Help develop strategies to attract new audiences and engage with existing followers.
Program Promotion
- Assist in promoting Negocios Now’s flagship programs, including Latinos 40 Under 40 and Who’s Who in Hispanic Business.
- Coordinate outreach efforts to nominees, sponsors, and community leaders.
- Develop marketing materials and announcements for events and unique features.
General Support
- Provide administrative and research support to the Publisher as needed.
- Assist in identifying and reaching out to potential business partners or advertisers.
- Perform other tasks that contribute to the growth of Negocios Now.
Qualifications
- Current student or recent graduate in journalism, marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and trends.
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Passion for the media industry, entrepreneurship, and Hispanic business development.
- Good writing and communication skills.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required.
This internship is funded through IBHE grant (Illinois Cooperative Work Study Program): #26ICWS15. Applicants must be US Citizens, Permanent Residents, and/or have an active student visa.
