Position Title: Project Coordinator Assistant Intern

Location: Flexible with certain in-person dates required (see below)

Fixed Pay Per Semester: $4500

Hours: 15 hours per week 

Start & End Date: January 20, 2026 - May 15, 2026

Experience Level: Entry Level (Undergraduate and Graduate Students eligible)

Description of Internship

Silk Road Cultural Center seeks a student intern to support the successful run of our workshop production of Yussef El Guindi’s Full-On Cleopatra, in partnership with Stage Center Theatre at NEIU. The student will be responsible for administrative and logistical duties related to project management and coordination.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • IN PERSON REQUIREMENT: Attends all meetings and related gatherings, including (but not limited to) workshops from January 26 - 30, 2026, and the run of the production from April 15 - 25, 2026. 
  • Supports the Project Coordinator in maintaining and managing all materials for the workshop and readings
  • Communicates regularly with the administrative and artistic team
  • Works with the Project Coordinator to create regular updates/reports to Silk Road Cultural Center & Stage Center Theatre, and participating artists
  • Develops and implements a post-performance evaluation survey in collaboration with the Project Coordinator and SRCC’s Director of Development & Project Advancement
  • Troubleshoots and problem-solves as needed 
  • Ensures the integrity and success of the workshop, rehearsals, and performances 

Qualifications 

  • Current NEIU student majoring in Communications, Media, Theatre, or related fields.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Interest in project management, event planning, and live performance
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

This internship is funded through IBHE grant (Illinois Cooperative Work Study Program): #26ICWS15. Applicants must be US Citizens, Permanent Residents, and/or have an active student visa.
